Hello Vacuumland .

I was wondering if any one remembers the lightweight Hoover that was made by Tacony?
There was in the 2000s a Hoover that was basically a rebranded Riccar RSL3 .
Can anyone share pictures or Videos ?

It was more like a knockoff oreck not a riccar. Hoover ultralite or oreck magnesium. Riccar Supra lite is nice the Hoover is a good hard floor cleaner. I have videos of my 2004 rsl4 on you tube. Utah vacuum guy or leshanson83@gmail.com.

There was a short period of time when Tacony made some vacuums for Hoover but they were only sold through authorized Hoover dealers. It's not just the lightweight uprights but they've also made some that were essentially the same as the Riccar 8 Series. I believe there is only one of these shown on YouTube the last time I looked.

@Lesinutah referring to a different vacuum than you are.
I think you are referring to this machine.

I watched a YouTube video on riccar and either oreck or Hoover.
My pics are automatically backed up to Google or Amazon. Its a 2006 rsl4 it has original brushroll and has very limited use. It's the best lightweight vacuum in it's time. The newer rsl5 r10a riccars are better because of metal brush roll and lifetime belt. I'd say it's better than Hoover. I think Panasonic had one that might be as good as or better. I'm not sure but fellow Panasonic vac guy would know.

When I worked at the Vac Museum at Tacony, I kept the Hoover ultralite and the Hoover hard body model out for people to see. The hardbody machine was built to go to Australia, worked on 240 V, and had a very weird plug. Different than the European plugs. When I left that horrible place, I left that kind of stuff there. I’m still sure that both machines are still sitting in the same place they were in what is now the factory’s tornado shelter.

Australian Tacony

Here's a couple of pictures of one of the two models Tacony made for Hoover Australia, these machines were part of the Australian line when Hoover ceased making product in Australian around 1999/2000

Mine is one of the very first Freedoms that Simplicity has ever sold and it's an entry model. It's technically the same vacuum as the newer S10E which is the model that I prefer because of how basic it is.

Yeah that's the other Hoover I was talking about. Talk about it being the remastered Dial-A-Matic! I really like how it's got the looped handle because I was never really a fan of the straight handles on the Riccars' and some Simplicitys'. Plus it fits my hand better.
