I wanted a older style one, so I bought this one because it was cheap. Although I didn't know they made a 562.

Sanitronic

You have yourself a 562 sanitronic. It was first model to wear tan or sirroco copper color. It was first year of no sweet Aire on emtor. It has 4 amp motor that is from 515 to sanitronic 7. The sanitronic 7 or vii came out right after 562. It has the sanitronic sunburst or starburst belt lifter. The bag looks close to original cord could be original. It only had single wheel assembly. It was the first year to be a shakeout bag that is not top fill. Prior to 562 you took clamp off the top of the bag released from handle twisted off emtor to empty bag through the top. The sanitronic 562 had first shakeout through the bottom. It has a zipper and pocket to help clear out the bag. You would put newspaper underneath shakeout open emtor tilt vacuum up slightly. You would shake bag again and use sani pocket to get everything out the bag tilt up and a slight shake and slide vacuum away from newspaper close emtor and reattach bag hook to handle. You would be ready to vacuum again. You would work up trash from bag and dispose of.
If you think about it it's exactly what new plastic vacs do empty bin. You empty emtor. They are first in sanatronic line.
562, sanitronic 7, dual sanatronic 50, dual sanatronic 80.
It's a very nice vacuum. It has good power and is lighter weight. If you have metal fan you can hear motor spool up.

Nice

That means your wiring is not 56 years old ready to crumble. In this case all except double wheels would be correct. It has probably got a grey Lexan fan. If you have a white amodel fan is best choice.
The vacuum should run really good. If you have a hose and or rug rennovator it would perform well.
The 562 rebuilt by Kirby means basically brand-new vacuum in 1989. If you kept up on vacuum you would not have to buy another the rest your life.
