I finally did it, with help from my own Dad!

My 1972 Kirby Classic 1CR now has a metal fan, and the speed switch wiring has been remedied with an all-new insulation tubing!

Congrats to you and your dad, Ben. That's a great-sounding Kirby!

I've always thought that the Classic 1-CR & Classic Ω 1-CB have an attractive, earthy appearance due to the color scheme and faux wood grain (and since it's a '72 I should add that it looks groovy—ha).

Paul,

Well, I still need to find an original gold bag with the right patch (which says "Kirby Classic") in it!

Ha! I was so intent on the sound that I didn't give it a close enough look!

Ben, it's very tattered and grubby, but there is an original Classic bag on this DS80 here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Kirby-Dual-Sani...

Could be laundered and used as a placeholder/demo slave until you find a more presentable copy.

I've sent these via email but I'll post both here. I'm pretty sure I know correct bag. I think both are correct but I believe one was a oem replacement bag. When I finish my classic I'm going to use black replacement bag. I just hope one is correct.
