My c8 is green
After I painted it from yellow. I have brand new motor,cord etc. I painted it green after d80. This pic is before I fried motor and the cord.

thats what i did to my compact ,wet sand in my shed and re paint in engine enamel blue paint .Then i let it sit in the shed on a hot summer day whit the door close to bake the paint on .It came out great best of luck whit your C8 ,steel wool pad and a gentle hand will take the paint off the handle and bring the shine back whit wax and voila .
