That is to my mind, the very best upright ever devised, A 603 Apex.

Grew up with one until 1962. My mother received it for her wedding shower in 1948! It was powerful! She bought a Hoover Convertible model 68, and the Apex went to my father's business.

I have a question about the Apex and also the hoovers, like the 28 which had screws to tighten

the bag on. Did they just have to tighten finger tight or do you have to use a wrench to tighten

them?

Sincerely,

Bud

I have the brown version, (maybe a 602? or 603A? I'll have to look later), from Tom Gasko after a trip to the museum about two years ago. It is one of my favorite vintage vacs.

Great brush roll design, really good bag for the time and a powerful motor. Works great on my berber carpet and is fun to use. The many features made it ahead of it's time. Another great product long gone.
