I have everything I need for my brand new Symmetry Ultra Premium, except . . . . the world's best 1.25" dust brush. My accessory knowledge is fairly out of date, so does anyone have a suggestion?

Not sure if it’s 1.25 inches, but the softest dusting brush I have ever used was made by Panasonic for Kenmore. If you can find a New Old Stock Kenmore dusting brush, that would be your best bet. I even trust it to clean computer screens and laptop screens.

Not sure why, but all the current brushes made in China have very rough bristles, even if they are advertised as “horsehair” brushes. Classic North American horsehair dusting brushes are really, really soft.

My test for brush softness: run your fingers over the bristles. If they make any sound, they are too harsh. Soft horsehair bristles hardly make any sound at all.

I've always found the Aerus/Electrolux flip/over dusting brush to be the best. It's an extremely well designed tool, the brushes are super soft, and it's a delight to use. It will fit 1 1/4 inch standard hose end. Just be sure it's a genuine Electrolux dusting brush, and not the generic replacement.

The Compact/Tri-Star dusting brush, with the holder made of soft vinyl, is another really good dusting brush with soft brushes.

Kirby makes a great horsehair dusting brush. Soft rubber so it should not scratch. I use it on

all my 1 1/4 inch vacuums. The flip over tool Tom was talking about is also very good. I use it on

my pleated draperies, then follow up with a hand held steamer......

I've looked around on Ebay for that Aerus/Electrolux dust brush, but it's almost impossible to tell if what they're selling is a real one or aftermarket. If you have a link for a real one (preferably black, if possible), please share it.

Does Riccar sell a good one? Maybe I should have bought that when I bought a Sport Portable vacuum from Connie at the museum the other day (which arrived yesterday, thanks!).

I was wondering about Riccar’s version as well, not impressed with Miele’s brushes, love rainbow’s....the ones with horsehair really feel nicer

As odd as it sounds I tend to like the oblong rainbow dusting brush. I use one daily for cleaning out machines and it seems to do rather well, soft yet effective horsehair bristles, They seem to last a long time.

sidewinder 8 inch brush

In my opinion this one is the best, you can dust objects like walls with it or dust flat surfaces, it works much better than the typical dusting brush.

dusting brush kit

And here is a kit of dusting brushes, I've actually thought about getting this, it's a whole set of different kinds of dusting brushes.
