The older 501s you have that were made before 1982 were rated either 175 watts (before 1975) or 1.2 amps (1975-82). The black and red one is possibly the oldest in your collection (probably a model 157 from 1949-53, or a 501 from 1953-55). However, there was also a variation of the commercial-duty model 3-501 (3-wire cord) called the "Turbo Groomer" for grooming horses which had a red bag with a horse pattern on it, and a black motor body and handle grip. ~Ben |
