A store called the National Wholesale Liquidators used to be near me and I used to get all of their circulars to see what vacuums were on sale. This was when I was about 3 or 4. Dirt Devil hand vacs, Eureka whirlwind uprights, Hoover canisters, you name it, they had it. One circular had a Hoover breathe easy-esque machine, which I thought was pretty cool. Judging by my memory, I couldve sworn it was purple, which is unusual since they came in blue, green, black etc. So my question is did they ever make a purple hoover that looked similar to the one in this picture? I have never been able to find the vacuum that I saw all those years ago, unless it was a different color of that machine and a simple case of false memory.

But I always thought this one photographed (especially in low res ads) more purple than it was in person. Perhaps this was the machine you saw. |

The image of the one you posted is the closest thing Ive seen to what i remember, because i couldve sworn the picture of the machine I remember also had a translucent bag door. I actually had this vacuum awhile ago before I gave it to my aunt when she needed a new one. It is possible this is the very machine I have been thinking of this whole time. The only weird thing I seem to remeber about the photo in the catalog was the logo was set the way it is like the one in the first photo with HOOVER at the top of th bag door. Then again it could be just bad memory. And the fact I have never seen earlier soft guard translucent models. Hoover made a ton of Dimension/Soft Guard units. These were my favorites growing up.
