Well, I've never worked on one of these. But I'll tell you about the number plate on my vintage Cadillac: what I thought were rivets were actually little brass nails. If you knock it down, and look at the inside of the fan case, you'll be able to tell if they're rivets or nails. If they're nails, just pound them out from the back, if rivets, you'll have to carefully drill or grind them out from the outside.

Here is best advice don't move the plate. It's original and altering would be greatly depreciating it's value. I notice it's a Canadian version eh. I have 3 510s. If you look at my pic by my name that's my best so far. When working on motor housing put correct screws in. That is how I received one I bought.
The bag is nice. I do envy the bag the one Kirby bag I have not acquired yet. Be careful with the power switch old wires crumble. The box looks different than my 510 box. I however don't think it's vacuum box I have just attachments. Great find but don't move plate it would be I'll advised Les |
