Today was the outside rummage sale at one of the thrift stores,so right away I spotted the Royal and a Hoover Steam Vac Deluxe and another I am not familiar with It's made by Vax,it uses a cloth bag or you can use it as a wet pickup vac,Is anyone familiar with the Vax machines, I used it to clean the inside of the Royals outer bag,it has good suction, can't wait to polish the Royal and maybe dye her faded green bag. Your Finds

I believe VAX is a branch of dirt devil, which is a branch of Royal, so you may have related machines LOL. The Royal you have was an excellant find. It looks like a newer Commercial Royal.

related machines LOL

They could be, I found them together,I thought the Royal was older so I might have misposted them,I also got the Hoover Steamvac Deluxe, all for 7.00,also a later Kenmore powernozzle, Excuse my messy garage but they have to stay down there until they are cleaned up,does the steam vac have a pump that sprays the solution into the carpet or is a gravity feed type system, everything seems to work on it I just haven't put water in in yet. It'll be a warm day in Hel before I acknoledge Vax as being part of Dirt Devil ;p

Besides, that's the first Vax design from the 80s..I had one, cute little cleaner really..castors like 70s office furniture.

Humor me please...

Great Royal. They just suck, and suck, and suck. We have been using an Electro Hygeine (Royal) for over 20 years without any problems. As for your car...

Being the crazy Volvo fan that I am, please show a picture of your nice 240 and tell us a bit about it. Mine is an '87 240 GL, 145,000+ and still going strong.

You have good taste,
Dave
