Is there a real difference??? prefer center belts-then you can edge clean on EITHER side of the floor nozzle.But I use my cordless Simplicity machines and enjoy them. |

@Hoover78
Belt placement on vacuums is non-standardized . Every manufacturer has put it wherever they deemed it best over years. Over the years replaceable belts have gone away for the most part. This makes belt placement even less relevant. I hope that answered your question? Wish you had personal message me over one of the various mediums I am widely available for contact on. I.E. Instagram, Facebook, patreon,email Rather than a off subject YouTube comment (that I swiftly replied ) @hoover78 comment didn't really make any sense. Right now as you put it ,Stil not clear question. As @luxflairguy put it please explain? |

What determines belt side is the direction the motor rotates. Since you always want the brush to sweep towards the back of the nozzle, if the motor you chose to implement into the design rotates one way or the other, that determines where the belt goes. Early Panasonics had the belt on the right side of the nozzle as well, as do Dyson DC07, 14, and 33 machines. Left side belts are the most common, probably because counter-clockwise rotating belt shaft motors are what is most common, I think it also lends to right handed users being able to get good edge cleaning along the right edge. |
