While I was at Fred Nelson's a few weeks back he donated this homeless vacuum to my cause.

I was able to find another vacuum for parts to make one complete unit. This a great little vacuum.

Thanks Fred!

Ohhhhhhh, my second-favorite GE. (My VERY favorite is the Roll-Easy, of course!!) Shall I tell (once again) the story about the time I sneaked into my friend's house to see his mother's new GE vacuum?!

Or have y'all heard it too many times already?!

It was this very model!!

I have one now, too, and the sewing kit sales promo giveaway!!

Tho I prefer the earlier Reach Easy Swiveltops (and the Roll-Easy, of course) if I stumble across one as nice as that...well, the inevitable will occur.

And so nice of Fred to give it to you. Isn't that one the "June Cleaver" model? Congrats,
Jeff

Well, my mom's grey Swivel Top and the one I found with the cord reel are my favorites, and I just can't get enough of seeing these and all the variations, although the really low budget ones and the Premier/Whirlwind clones are kind of eerie. I need to find a beige or white caddy for mine. I want a fully equipped "Glade green" '60 model like the one in my Holiday magazine.

Your welcome Morgan

So glad you found the parts. This was the same machine my mother had. I remember when Mom and Dad went to the local Ace Hardware to buy it to replace the Kenmore Commander. Here is a photo of mine. I don't think that these are very good vacuums, but it has a lot of sentimental value.

Speaking of Roll Easys

God love Tania. What a sweetheart. I have always wanted a Roll Easy and the last time I was up in Milwaukee viewing her collection, I was giving her a hard time about having two Roll Easys and poor little me not having one. Well, when she came down for the gala she brought me this one. I was overwhelmed. It has all the parts including the tool box! Thanks doll. Don't you just love the color?

Fred

Fred that is such a beautiful vacuum!! I think it is the color that really makes it stand out and gets our attention. Tania is such a sweetheart but she knew that the vacuum was going to another very kind and generous person!!

That emerald green rug sets off the turquoise stunningly. Such a selfless gesture.

As I'll repeat, the Roll-Easy send up that Charles put in his site is what got me going about getting one. The first thing I saw was the lady in the red dress with one, and then those great ad pics with all those mid century accoutrements. Freda Diamond certainly did fill the Populuxe Era with many fine designs, and I still like the Roll-Around!
