Hi all,

I'm fairly new to this site and still learning. I found this today at Goodwilland since a lot of you seem to speak highly of Kirby, I thought I'd pick it up. I know nothing about Kirby vacuums and really only like canister vacuums. This Kirby seems fairly new, so I mostly likely posted it under the wrong category, with that said, I'd like to know more about this Kirby ? Any info someone would like to provide will be appreciated

Brad

Congratulations Brad,

You found yourself a fantastic vacuum! You will find that nothing cleans like a Kirby.

The Kirby Diamond edition was produced during 2003 to 2005. The Diamond Edition is the ONLY Kirby to have a speed selector switch which effectively gives you 4 speeds, two speeds in Carpet mode and two speeds in Hose mode.

Kirby's are designed to last many years. I have a 52 year old Kirby Dual Sanitronic 50 that still runs like new.

Don't be afraid to ask any questions you may have about your Kirby. There are many Kirby experts here on this forum that are willing to help you out any way they can.

Love me a kirby!

Kirbys are excellent, extremely durable and repairable if needed. It's very hard to find anything that cleans as well as a kirby. The diamond edition is a neat one, a good piece to start with.

The Ultimate G Diamond Edition is one Kirby I wouldn't mind having, but I have a hard time justifying the expense, given the other G-series machines I already have. Earlier this year, I walked away from one at a thrift shop with a full set of tools in well-used condition for $50. I struggled with it for several minutes but the money, it just didn't offer enough benefit over what I already had.

Thanks for all the information and suggestions

I've watched a couple of YouTube videos about the Kirby and also watched the manufacturer's videos. This is quite the machine. After hearing from folks on here and watching the videos I'm very excited by this find. It was a thrift store find and it cost $35, with all the attachments. Very pleased and lucky! Ordered a couple of replacement bags and they should be here on Wednesday. Can't wait to give it a run through it's paces.

If you are a canister person, the Kirby can also serve as a canister too. Just break it down and set up as the canister.
