My heart stopped for a second when I saw that title, thinking you were about to say she had died!!

She really is one of the best British actresses though, certainly deserving of her new title.

One of my favourite "made for TV" movies is "Anybody's Nightmare".

Electro, you gave me pause as well! I've had the pleasure to see some of her stage work, her one woman play is one of the best I've ever seen.

She was a teacher . . .

She was a teacher in the original "To Sir, With Love" with Sidney Potier. Long before her fame at Hyacinth.

I, too, feared that she had died.

Most Americans know her best for "keeping Up Appearances'. Some also saw her on that detective show. Of the British comedies, I LOVED to watch, "Are You Being Served", followed by, "Keeping Up..." It was a wonderful hour of British entertainment. We'd laugh and forget our troubles. I've been compared (kidding, I hope) to the MALE version of Hyacinth................... I've also been likened to the great, later Jackie Kennedy. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Congrats, Dame Patricia (Our Patty).

Dame Pat

......also, had a fine soprano voice. Did our friends across the pond ever see her in 'hetty wainthorpe investigates'? Her character was so different to that of Mrs bucket,in fact more like patricia's !!

We had a neighbour who was very similar to the 'bucket woman' except our neighbour did not have the up market department store clothes and her nature could very easily turn septic!!

Hopefully Dame Pat (born 1929) will be well enough to use her talent in the future.

Regards, Walter, West Midlands, U.K.
