This seems like an easy query, especially if someone has done this. I'm trying to adapt the end of a Electrolux hose(the metal part that inserts down into the wand), into the wand of a Hoover(Constellation). I bought an 'adapter' off eBay and it's like the male part of the Electrolux hose end x Hoover male w/the locking lug. Doesn't' get me anywhere except it fits/locks to the Hoover wand.
Now the other way around;using the Constellation hose end with a Electrolux wand would work if one half of this tool was much longer to fit all the way down the Electrolux wand.
Somebody?

Hoover made a wand for their power nozzle (to be used with central vacuum hoses) that fit the Hoover neck but the other end fit a 1 1/4 inch standard hose end. If you get one of those wands, you'll be good to go.

Thanks! I'll look for that then....do they turn up on eBay ever?
If this adapter is ABS, I can glue a length on to fit way down into the Electrolux wand. That will take me to one conversion anyway. I'll post a pic of it later...the adapter as bought on the bay.
*Update:OK, here is a pic of what I bought. As I said, if I made one side appreciably longer, it would work with going from the Hoover hose end to the Electrolux wands. I also want to go from the Electrolux hose end to the Hoover wand as well, which will require a different configuration...male x female.
What started this was......that floor head that came with the later model Constellation(not the reissue model) does a really great job with the dog hair on the hard floors. The Electrolux floor brushes don't really have any edge cleaning side ports, so it tends to push & capture what it can....you have to repeatedly raise and lower the floor brush for best effect. That Hoover head gets it all one pass. So I thought with the superior suction and air flow of the Diamond J with that Hoover floor head, it should be unstoppable floor cleaning in my situation.
