Does anyone have one of these? This was my first vacuum as a kid and would love to have one back in my collection. |

Canister with power nozzle or upright? Hoover had both. The Encore lines were Hoovers entry level, no frills machines that offered reasonable cleaning but not as much power as their higher up Elite, PowerMax, Windtunnel and other series machines!
The canisters had no headlight, were rated 10.5 Cleaning Effectiveness per Amp rating. Not sure the exact amp usage of the machine. Bags were type K, power nozzle belt was 38528-011 and brush roll was single row bristle 48414079-- same style as the upright 12" machines! The canister body style was that of a Spirit with non swivel, current carrying hose and suction relief valve on handle. The most common color scheme was a red suction unit and black colored power nozzle but there was also a deep green shade suction unit model. Tools stored onboard were crevice tool, dusting brush, and upholstery nozzle. Some models may have had a bare floor brush too. The uprights generally were generally red in color. Cloth outer bags with side mount zipper access. Type A bags inside, belt style was 38528-027 which got replaced by Hoover later as the 38528-040. Brush roll for many was the single row bristle 48414079 but some models may have come with the dual row brush roll 48414081. The head was T-shaped non headlight Elite style cleaner head. The hose generally wrapped up towards the handle and then back down, not an all side mounted hose system. Cleaning Effectiveness per Amp rating was generally 14.5 and I believe the amps for these were 7.0, but some may have been 7.2. |

I have two of these and I am not in need of doubles. It is in need of a cord and brush roll which I can fix for you. Send me an email and we can see about getting it to you. |
