I wanted to take a moment to say "THANK YOU" to Charlie Watrous (former VCCC President) for his kind gift of cloth vacuum cleaner bags to the Vacuum Cleaner Museum. Charlie was kind enough to send us new old stock/almost new cloth vacuum bags for Regina suction only uprights, Royal, Premier, etc. to help the Museum's collection look even better.

Thank you again very much Charlie. You're the best.

that is great news. I would suggest keeping any old worn bags to use for future templates.

(and take pics of any logos for future reference)

Many thanks for your kind words. I really enjoyed our phone conversation and am glad the, "new", old bags have a home where they can be seen and enjoyed.

As I mentioned to you, when the time comes that I will not be able to have my vacuum collection, most will be sent to the museum.

I look forward to seeing you in June if I can make my schedule work. I have wanted to visit the museum and the Tacony factory for some time. Hopefully, it will all work out.

Way to be generous, Charlie!

Tom, does the museum's collection include floor polishers and shampooers? Also, do you have a library of manuals and other literature (electronic or print)?

Paul:
We have an extensive collection of paper (literature, owners manuals, parts books, etc.). My favorites are the ads, especially from the 1950's. One of my all time favorites is for the Eureka roto-matic. She's cradling it in her arms and the caption reads "Pete is my husband, but my Eureka...is my honey".

We have floor polishers, both electric and non-electric - as well as carpet shampooers. My favorite polishers are ones you attach to vacuums. We all know the Electrolux and Compact polishers, but Silver King and Air-Way and Filter Queen also made them.

Feel free to stop by the Vacuum Cleaner Museum any time. If you want me to give your tour, please phone ahead to be sure I'm not off that day.

I sent you an email last week.
