This is my second experience with a Dyson, I have repaired one of these in the past for my old boss when I worked for Fleming's. It seems like a very well built machine. I picked it up for the sweet price of $10. I does have some issues though. The sole plate is missing and there is something wrong with the clutch and I don't know if the clutch is done for or if the the belts are shot. I can say though that I tested the suction and has fantastic suction. Couyld one of the Dyson experts ring in on how to service the clutch on this model.
1) Remove the soleplate by turning the 3 brightly coloured fasteners 90 degrees anti clock wise.
2) Take the brush off he belt by lifting and turning the brush as you move the brush along.
3) Remove the internal hose by twisting it off on the brush housing and pulling it out on the other end. On the end where you pull it there should be a grey cuff.
4)Remove the brushbar housing by gently pivoting and pulling from each end. It will pop off.
5)Remove the U bend by un clipping it from the bottom rear of the vacuum and remove the 3 T15 torx screws (making sure the machine is in the upright position. Two are on the clutch as you can see and one hidden by the U bend. A long screw driver is needed for this one, approx 10- 15 cm long.
6) Remove the clutch cover when the 3 screws are removed and it should come off. Then un-hook the belt from the motor spindle.
7) Prise off the clutch knob with flat head screwdriver on two opposing sides.
8) Pull the clutch out by pulling on he belts. Be careful as the clutch may spring out.
