Hi everyone! I went to an antique shop and they have an Electrolux model 30, it has blue vinyl (looks like same vinyl used on the LX), the carry handle is white, it's missing the motor and all the back pieces! Also, missing a sled too! The owner was going to sell it to me for $3.00, but I didn't know how readily I could find all the parts/pieces for it! I would love to get this baby and put it back to how it should be again! Plus, I don't know exactly what all I need to buy for it, so if anyone can help me in knowing exactly what all is needed that would be awesome! If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it!!! I love saving anything old and would love to restore a part of history!!! -Michelle :)

I'm all about saving stuff, but I think you'd be better off financially and time-wise by finding a complete XXX. There is just too much missing for it to be worth $30. I paid $10 for mine:

If I read Michelle's post correctly, the seller only wanted $3 for it. Yes, there's a lot missing, but at that price, one can hardly go wrong. It also opens up the door for some sort of creative "arts-n-crafts" project, as opposed to cannibalizing a complete one, or even just as a parts donor for another machine, which maybe it already has been.

You're right, I read the price wrong. I suppose for $3, why not.

Hi Michelle,

I agree that you can't go wrong with a $3.00 purchase. Since you seem to do so much antiquing and garage-saling you're bound to find more Model 30s which may be used for swaps. Craigslist and online auctions also list parts from time-to-time.

Keep us posted!
