So after an expensive motor rebuild the old beast has been resurrected! I'm really impressed by the power it has! The disturbulator grooms the carpet really well!

Looks awesome!

I had to see what this thread was about because the title you chose was perfect! If it vacuums anywhere as good as it looks, you've got a real winner! I've never seen one before, so thanks for sharing (a few more pics would be a real treat).

Also, nice Electrolux 'L' - it's my favorite model. I love using it on my bare floors.

AWESOME!

More pics please! I only saw this one once from the back side because it was in a neighbor lady's closet. I didn't have the nerve to open the closet door right there in front of her to get another look.

Nice vacuum-looks pretty husky!Looks like it has a very large motor and fan.And its direct air!Are bags still available for the Emporor or do you have to retrofit bags from another brand?

Nice Eureka - made in Japan by Matsushita-Panasonic!

What does "Automatic Carpet Compensator" mean on the little round tool-port cover?

Would be great to find the attachment set that was offered with this unique Eureka!

Bags, etc.

bvac6's profile picture
The bags it takes are Type P, and they are quite extinct! I am fortunate to have found a couple packs of them at the old vac shop. The Carpet Compensator is a plug that has a plunger on the bottom of it that opens to allow air in as a sort of "pressure equalizer" when the nozzle bogs down on the carpet due to the strong suction. The motor is actually not very big, at least not the biggest I've ever seen. The fan is really unique! Its deep bladed and has these two little "teeth" on the edges of it that have a sharp point on the end. I assume its to shred whatever object may get hung up in the fan chamber.

Congrats!

You'll really enjoy using it, and it's like new now with the rebuilt motor. I don't get mine out too much, knowing that I'm lucky it's still working, don't want to push my luck!

"P" type bags--can other bags fit?The shredder teeth on the fan blades sound unique! Is the fan metal?

Tolivac

Honestly Im not sure if other bags would fit. The opening at the top of the bag fill tube is rectangular and I don't know of any other bag that is still produced today that would work. The brushroll is pretty worn but still contacts the carpet, Id love to find an NOS one lying around! The fan is metal and is quite thick.

So,guess its tough to find bags for the Emporer-that is too bad-nice machine and with a tough metal fan!Hope you can run into a new or spare brushroll! What about belts?

Bags, my goodness! I thought I searched everywhere for them lol! Thanks! Tolivac, the belts that I found are for the Regina Housekeeper, they seem to work well.

What can you use if the Regina Housekeeper belts become unavailable?Thought Housekeepers were NLA.

Belts

bvac6's profile picture
The Housekeeper itself is definitely short on available parts. But, the belt is also sold as being able to fit Panasonic with a UB1 belt. I wager that I will have a steady supply until Panasonic stops using that belt type.

Good-if Panasonic belts fit-you and the Emporer are good to go.

Really cool machine!

Glad you were able to get a rare piece of vacuum history back into its prime. Panasonic vacuums flourished in the 80's and 90's, and it's fascinating to see the history of their development. Looks awesome!
