Not sure if this is the answer...

But this is the price of parts list for the 63 from my copy of the 1957 Hoover service guide. Dated September 1, 1953.

The Hoover Historical Center told me that the production start up date was actually in August 1953 so that parts list effective date makes sense.
@ hooverboy81 can I see the cost of parts in 1953? If you post an image do I have your permission to save it to my computer?
Thank you very much

I figured it was around that time. My mother was born in August of 1953 and my late grandmother purchased three 63s before her birth. And absolutely! I'll email them to you tonight!

I got the actual dates!

HOOVER model 63 began production on August 24, 1953.  It ceased production on April 26, 1957.  It was labeled originally (experimental) as X-190-A.

I got this correct info  from Tom.  Tom Who? Tom Anderson.   Just for clarification,  whenever I refer to a Tom... it's always Tom A.  He has OR can get the most accurate Hoover info.

  I'm lucky we're so close.

I'll get around to posting pics of all of my 63s in my "gallery" thread. Hope this helps.

 John

Great info! I didn't know they built them that long. Were the 63's made at the same time as 64's or 65's?

For a while,  they actually "overlapped".
