I think that was a Sear's model.

Well, here it is. I got it for $15. It runs but the motor bogs down when you try to use it. New belt, new bag...the whole works. It sounds pretty good...and then once it hits the carpet, you can hear the pitch change. The machine itself is in very good condition. Hopefully I can get some motor work done on it or replace it with another good 5 amp motor.

I also just realized the hood gets a little warm to the touch after running it for a bit.

They are workhorses.  Great find.  I hope you get the motor worked out.

That was indeed a Sears model, one of the first Hoover models Sears carried when they revamped their appliance department as "Brand Central" to include appliance brands other than Kenmore.
There were also two other Convertible models and a Concept One model, all finished in a combination of Camargue Blue and Platinum Gray.

Yes Sears, and this was one of the last household Convertibles in the early 90s. Maybe it needs new brushes?
