New dyson V6 range in the UK
I think they look like good cleaners, though I don't think they are really worth the price. Tom CLICK HERE TO GO TO tomvacuum10's LINK |

One thing that I was hoping that Dyson would change the batteries to give more battery length than just 20 minutes. I'm currently looking at a Bosch Athlet which offers up to 60 minutes of time, three times the length of the Dyson.
Another thing that's put my 91 year old great-gran of getting one is the fact that you have to keep your finger on the button, which is useless as she has hand problems. It's also top heavy unlike some cordless vacuums which are actual upright vacuum style. |

Dyson have just invested millions into a company called Sakti3 to develop a much improved battery. So watch this space :-) I'm not sure about it being top heavy, I think it's very well balanced. |

I think they have a trigger release to maximise the battery time. I suppose they could have a trigger lock mechanism. |

I have been a bit disappointed with the DC35, especially the carpet cleaning performance which is only acceptable on Max mode. I would love to see a mains powered digital slim, but hopefully with new battery technology, the performance and run time will improve. |

The DC35 was only advertised really for quick clean ups. Depending on who you ask, the dc59 is also for quick going overs. The difference between the dc35 and dc59 is quite great, in terms of performance on carpets especially, as it has a completely redesigned head and brushbar.
What I find so great about the dc59 is its mini motorised tool which is perfect for doing the stairs and probably does a better job than my sebo with the turbo brush. I wouldn't mind trying out the new V6 absolute, the one with the dc50 like cleaning head, as that is supposed to be as good and better than some corded vacuums. |

No of course not. All you can do is give your own opinion and people can agree or disagree. :-) |

Well that's the interesting thing - I am never sure if someones preferences actually constitute an opinion or not, or rather it is just a preference. |

Someone can give an opinion, their view of a product they used. They may like that product or hate it. Anyway I don't what to get involved in pedantics :-) |

Neither do I. I wanted a polite conversation. I think I offended (again) so I will retreat. |

Haha not at all. I never take offence on here. It's just a discussion about vacuum cleaners not world politics :-) |

There we go, another fan of the Vax Cordless Air.
It really is a terrific design, Marcus. Okay so suction through the hose isn't that good but if its a cordless carpet upright you're looking for, it will suffice. So simple to direct, steer and picks up well due to its triple windtunnel ducts. I do notice that the Athlet has dropped in price to £199 at most online sites, but then the Vax Cordless Air is also going for £199 at Argos. |

Love my Hoover Air Cordless. I had just run the KirBeast G2000 before the Hoover arrived and the Air Cordless picked up a ton more dirt. I was so shocked I took a pic of the bin.

Seems to be quite a few people on here impressed with the Hoover/Vax Cordless. If it had a HEPA filter I think I'd be tempted to get one. |

But you say that you were looking to buy for your grandma. Based on the fact that these cordless vacs are hardly going to put out much "dirty air", there's not much point in offering HEPA in my experience. Granted the MR SuperVac I have has one as standard, but its not as if it is really benefitting many - I think it was just put there to increase sales.
I mean, seriously. For a conventional dust buster wiith a far smaller dust capacity and a lower force of suction, a HEPA filter isn't really going to save anyone from allergies in a bag-less design. |
