 For years I have bought nothing but genuine Hoover parts. I truly believe the quality is (was?) better than many generics and had no problem spending a little extra to treat my Hoovers right. I've heard recently Hoover has stopped production of their own bags and now package generics under their name. Is this true? If so, what from your experience is the best generic bag brand? I need some type A bags, but I assume the paper will be similar across all styles. I'll buy some NOS while I can, but eventually those will be hard to find. | ||

I would definitely stay away from the newer genuine bags. Envirocare makes a good micro-filtration bag, and I've tried Arm and Hammer and they're ok. There are probably some older genuine bags on ebay for a reasonable price. Sometimes an older hardware store will have NOS as well. | ||

How about Febreeze bags? They emit a really good smell, because it's owned by Bissell. | ||

Well, I have used Hoover Micro Filtration & HEPA Cloth Type S bags in my Hoover Windtunnel Anniversary canister, & found they were decent quality. However, having said that, their quality is no better than generics. Have used HEPA Cloth bags from Envirocare before for other brands & was pleased with them, but not impressed with either Envirocare or Arm&Hammer micro filtration bags, best I have found for generics is DVC or HomeCare brand. If you do buy Hoover brand, just stick to the micro filtration & avoid the plain paper bags & you should be fine.

Dont buy sears ultra care bags! Even the micro-lined sears ultra care bags leak dust; I had that problem with my euteka mighty mite | ||

I also tend to prefer the Envirocare line, mostly because they offer almost everything in a micro lined bag, which filters better and takes longer to plug and lose the machine's airflow. Most of the newer Hoover bags (aside from the Allergen or HEPA bags) are a kinda cheap thin paper that doesn't filter as well as the old green Hoover paper bags once did. I use HEPA bags in as many vacuums as I can, even older Hoovers, I stuff F&G HEPA bags in Hoovers that use the C bag too!

Reggie....just wondering....you said you are getting HEPA Cloth F&G Eureka bags? Where are you getting them from then?? I knew Tacony was selling Eureka F&G HEPA Cloth bags, but I thought I had heard they have since discontinued making their own bags for other brands. So, what manufacturer is making these bags you have then, & what parts supplier & parts number are they available under then? I'm sure there are LOTS of other collectors who would want to buy these.

Hepa F and G bags!
You'll find them on "discountcleaningproducts.com." They are made for Koblenz uprights. They are quite expensive, at about $15 including shipping for 4 bags, but they are excellent bags. I use them in my old Hoover uprights, as well as in my Singer Powermaster and Premier upright. Totally worth it, considering how poorly regular type C bags filter. And they are HUGE.
