I gave my Rainbow a good cleaning today and I had to take the gasket off and clean it. After cleaning I let it air dry for several hours. I used spray adhesive and sprayed the back of it and applied it. It's been drying for well over an hour but I'm still able to peel the basket back a little. I did press the gasket back down and I'm letting it set a while longer. Is this normal?

Did you attached the motor unit to the water basin while the adhesive dries? Try that first. If that doesn't work try using something like 3M Plastic and Emblem Adhesive. That's what I normally use. But I'm sure there are many others that work just as well or better.

Thanks!

I attached the motor unit to the water basin and I'm letting it set to really apply pressure. Thanks for the tip! I had never thought about that. I was thinking to myself that I wish there was a way to apply pressure all around the gasket... Lol Blonde moment lol I added a picture of the type of adhesive I used. The back says for temporary or permanent bonds and rubber is on there

Rubber cement

I use commercial grade rubber cement. It's branded pliobond. Never had a problem with it. I do always latch on the water basin to get a tight seal

Weatherstripping adhesive works well.
