I have an old Hoover Convertible (the Agnes Moorehead model) that I bought used in a thrift store 3 years ago. It had been modified with a newer long cord and a Type A topfill bag assembly. I use this vacuum only to vacuum my front porch. The porch is subject to pine needle debris (both the fine dust and the needles). I pick up most longer needles with my fingers, then use the Convertible to vacuum up the rest. The dust permeates EVERYTHING in my house, but the reason for this post is this:
Any ideas about how I should clean this bag? As you can see from the 2 pictures, it takes on the fine dust in the outer bag. I regularly clean the rest of the cleaner to prevent accumulations, but I've been on the fence about how to wash the outer bag. Any suggestions? Some further info: I have a front-loading LG washer, and no real utility sink to soak anything in. Could I use the delicate setting on the LG? Note that this bag has one of those dang infernal plastic bag hangers, which I hate.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions, folks.
