Here is my Hoover Elite which I got shipped over from the U.S because I have wanted to get my hands on one of these for a while, especially with this arrangement of on-board tool storage.
These were never sold over here, well, we got the "Turbolite" also known as the "Elite 200" in the U.S...The "Commercial Dual Purpose" and "Professional Dual Purpose", which were basically the American "Legacy" hard box cleaners and the "Maytag upright with removable tool rack" which in the U.S was called the "Caddy Vac" apart from that we didn't get any other Elite based cleaners. I am fascinated with the Elites for a reason I can not describe. They are such nice cleaners to use and I think they just look really cool. This one was sold as "spares or repair" on eBay as it was in pieces with no motor, I messaged the seller asking him about the motor and he said it works but the fan is smashed, so I said "oh just ship that over too and I will just get it a new fan. when I unboxed it the motor was missing it's casing and fan casing but luckily I has a spare, so that was ok. Sure enough that was wrong with the motor...The broken fan and I am not kidding, there were 2 blades left of it!! After I cleaned it all I put a new fan on the motor, reassembled it and now it runs like a dream. The headlight lens was missing when I received it, but the seller said he found it (behind his microwave) and sent over to me, so it is now complete. And here it is... |

Here is how I power up the thing...as we are 240v I couldn't use it otherwise. I use a step down site transformer which they use on building sites to step the power down to 120v so if there is any accidents it doesn't kill the workers. This transformer goes up to 3.3KVA which means that is is more than capable of running a 12amp U.S vacuum.
In order to plug the U.S plug into it I had to buy a cable that had the site transformer 16ampl plug which plugs into the transformer and has a U.S socket/outlet on the other end, thus enabling me to use it. |

On the cord, I also love the long cords on my USA machines, currently I have 2 15inch bagged powerdrive windtunnels 1 15inch bagless windtunnel 1 13 inch bagged windtunnel Two different elite machines Two differnt spinscrub carpet washers
plus many more I love the long cords compaired eu machines. For some reason although most of our homes have similar size to homes in the USA than the EU. For some reason all the manufacturers here seem to think we need EU sourced machines.

I have used H4 bags in the Turbolite in the past and despite it working just fine, the bag doesn't inflate as much as the Type A ones. I don't think I will buy anymore as they are quite expensive...but it is fun have the right bags :)
My transformer says it will go up to 3.3KVA but it is 1.6KVA continuously which is more than enough for a 1440watt 12 amp U.S vacuum anyway. |
