Hey Everyone. Just received 3 packages of machines from England. Unfortunately 4 of the 10 machines were damaged in shipping (Customs opened the packages and didn't repack them well)
These 3 are the major damage - I am hoping that I can make one model 310 out of the two (the second was supposed to go to a friend). The handle on one is toast and there is a crack in the front cover that I hope I can glue. The front cover is completely toast on the second one. The 80 needs a handle (and the rug nozzle) if anyone has some spare parts. Doug |

Wow Doug, SO SORRY about your Electrolux casualties. Boy can I ever commiserate ... "Been there, done that, have the bits and pieces to prove it." I =LOVE= the Models 16 117 48, especially the 48 -- the front-cover latch is a masterpiece of over-engineering! What about the Model 117 makes it an economy model? What years were these three models manufactured? Thanks for all the great photos. :) |

Hi Charlie:
Tried to post this earlier but something happened with the site and it seems to have dissappeared. I should have posted the years with the machines. Here they are anyway. Model 16 - 1933-1934 (BOL) Model 117 - 1947-1948 (BOL) Model 48 - 1951-1956 (BOL) Model 62 - 1957-1959 (TOL) Model 77 - 1967-1970 (BOL) Model 80 - 1967-1969 (TOL) Model 310 - 1970-1973 (Delux model) Model 303 - (Early 80's - don't have exact dates) - Mid Range model Hi George - The 303 is one of my favorites. I've been looking for it for quite a while. Now if I could only find the rug nozzle and dusting brush :) Nice 302 by the way Doug |

Hi James, Guy - Happy New Year
Hi Edgar - Happy New Year. Yep I'd still like the 307 when you get around to it. Give me a yell for the address when you are ready. I managed to salvage and repair enough pieces to put one of the 310's together. There is still a crack in this handle and one in the front cover but I've glued them. Hopefully they will stay together well. Here's the result. |

And finally - the gem of the collection. Al also sent me a gift in the package (Which customs so nicely also ripped open for me). Thankfully there was no damage to it. A machine that I have wanted for a long time. A Goblin Wizard!!!!
It also has one other distinction. I've collected vacuums for over 40 years and this is the first time anyone has EVER given me one as a Christmas gift. Thank you so much Al. |

Hello Doug, I am curious about the made body of the machine; is it cast aluminium or pressed steel...is it in two parts? Regards, Walter. |

Hi Gareth:
Thanks. Let me know what you find. Hi Al: The one to the right of the 310 is a Sanyo - I have a brown version of that machine. A couple more pictures to add. These are the machines that I received parts for in this shipment. Electrolux 330 While I have had this machine since the early 90's I just received the dual dusting brush and crevice tool/brush head to complete it in this shipment (Thanks Al and Sam). Now all I need to find is an original of the instruction book (have a copy already). |

The GOBLIN WIZARD is priceless ! Anyway, shipping damage happens quite often for such long trips, that's why I don't buy anylonger from the US market : it can take months to arrive, boxes often stop at the italian border in Genova and they want a fax with declaration of the content, there are expensive taxes, etc IT'S A REAL MESS ! In both cases, my cleaners arrived damaged ( a loving HOOVER 28 with broken hood and a cute HOOVER 541 with broken fan : in both cases the two machines are still sitting - for 8 years - waiting for repair parts...a real pity ). But this happens for shorter trips as well like it happened to me - again - a couple of years ago with an astonishing HOOVER 160 ( UK version of your 150 ) that I bought from a stupid english collector ( 74simon ) who - after receiving tons of emails from me asking him for extra packaging material in order to protect the hood - simply put the cleaner as it was in a small box, forcing the box until the sides collapsed and then wrapping the thing with meters and meters of tape...of course the bakelite hood arrived completely smashed. The poor idiot was "very sorry", asked for photos for a refund from ensured package and proposed to help me find a spare hood....never heard from him again. Poor thing ! Still today I am looking for that hood ... hope you will be more lucky with these more recent models ! |

Hey Guy
Yes the Volta was sold in Canada in the mid 70's by Dometic before the model 345 that you have. It had a similar optional power nozzle but with a full plastic handle instead of the wand. I also recieved the dusting brush for your Dometic in this shipment. I'll get hold of you about shipping that to you as soon as I get the house back in order. Working on packing away the chrismas stuff now. Doug |
