Today, I did a run to the "Big Saver", and found a pretty nice Hoover Decade 800 for $4.00. I have been wanting a Decade 800 to go with my Decade 80. Unfortunately, the cord was cut :-(, I gave no idea how to install a new one for fear of messing up the handle or switch. I will clean it up and try to install a new cord soon.

The CORD!

Unscrew the screws at the switch, pull the handle out and the cord is exposed!

Very nice find!! Hope you get it running soon. With these an extension cord would almost work. But it would be good to find a genuine Hoover cord. Probably a vac store online or local one to you has one.

I got it cleaned up and running, but it still needs some brushroll work. I also put on a proper type A bag, not one of those nasty dust cups.
