Hi Guys.

When stripping my Turbopower Plus apart, one of the wires leading to the carbon brush holders snapped.

No worries, I though, I have a spare coil in the garage.

However, it came from a motor with a headlight, so has an extra spade connector.

The black wire goes to a carbon brush. The brown cut off wire I think went to the bulb holder. Does it matter where I plug it in? Both lead to the coil somewhere.

From DC08 101-UK-A-20983

Thanks!

Motor wiring

It's hard to tell just by looking, but the manufacturers may have used the motor windings as a voltage transformer for the headlight bulb. Was the lamp 110V?? If that is the case, then you will need to be sure that you connect to the correct terminals. Since I have no practical experience of this machine, I don't know. I am sure that there are others who will know for sure, but I wouldn't want you to destroy a good set of field windings, and possibly your armature, too, by a wrong connection.

All best

Dave T

Hi Dave. No idea what the lamp voltage is tbh. But after your advice I'm going to buy my step dad a bottle of ale and ask him to solder the old one together, if I can find the old one that is...
