Howdy,
Yesterday I picked up a hand vac (GE AVH45). Now with my four hand vacs, the thought crossed my mind as to whether there was a performance contest for hand-vac cleanability at the meets.
If it's already been done.. spill the beans... I've only been to two meets thus far. I'm still a bit of a newby.
I suppose the cleaning paths would have to be formed in a circle in order for the contestants to remain standing. A straight path would require the contestants to crawl on their hands and knees as they push the hand vacs down a long carpeted path.
.. Then again, having contestants crawl down the straight-line carpeted path could yield some fun photo-opportunities. On top of it, since the vacuum cleaners are small, LOTS of people could vacuum at the same time provided the circuit breakers hold.

Comments welcome!

Handheld Kirby uprights should be their own contents!

Bring on the fun. The point of a handheld vac is because the smaller head maneuvers and fits well into smaller areas. Thereby a full size Kirby in "hand vac" mode is virtually disqualified!!! That's like my FilterQueen powerhead attached directly to hose. Still full power of machine, much more maneuverable than a Kirby but still not up to the size ratio of where another hand vac might fit!!

Now if anyone has the red Kirby Hand vac with headlight, then that would be cool. I like the electric hand vacs with rotating brushes. I've used a Hoover Sidewinder, and a few Dirt Devils. Never tried the Panasonic Jet-Flo, Kirby handheld, Shark, or Eureka Corvette, or other Eureka handhelds. Would like to try the navy blue Black & Decker handheld some day.

I went from having no hand vacs to 2 over the past couple of weeks. Bought one used one from from a vac shop collector friend in New York. It's a green Dirt Devil Plus. Great color. The second is a navy blue Royal Pro Series. I got the Pro Series at my local Goodwill. Love the navy blue color, I saw it and just about had to have it. Today is the cleanup day for both of them. The Royal is all cleaned up and reassembled with new belt and bag. The green one broke its baseplate screw supports when removing the screws, so they are currently curing with some glue. I hope it holds, the green color housing is really neat looking.

I have that Jet-Flo,

Not great on suction, tiny air path causes clogs very often.

I've tried quite a few. I really love my vintage brown Black & Decker Collector. Found it for $2 at a yard sale, they actually had 2...still kicking myself for being cheap and not getting the other one too.

But I came from the era of the cordless dustbuster, so I wasn't expecting it to work as well as it does. Powerful little bugger surprisingly.
