Can someone clarify for me what ESP means? I've always assumed that ESP (extra suction power) meant that the vacuum had a taller fan compared to a non-ESP Eureka. Is that right? Anyone have any pictures of the two fans so I could tell the difference? Is the actual fan chamber in the ESP vacuum deeper than the non-ESP vacuum, and can you fit an ESP fan in a non-ESP vacuum, or vice versa?
Lastly, are both the 1934A and 1934B ESP? Sorry for all the questions. |

No, the 1934 series are not ESP. ESP Eureka's have a switch in the handle, and a two speed motor. |

The single speed ESP's are just a gimmick, I imagine. I have an ESP Self Propelled 5071 D (red, with two speed switch on handle.) |

"just a gimmick"
This is so sad. A large manufacturer like Electrolux/Eureka had to resort to using a feature-name without providing the feature to the consumer in order to cheapen the product. I guess it's similar to the surprise I had when I read that some Hoover "WindTunnels" do not actually feature the real WindTunnel brush cavity with the segregated air channels. These guys spend all those years touting a feature to the buying public, then do the "bait and switch" years later by using the feature's reputation without providing the feature. *sigh* :-( |
