Under the dust!!!

Of course, if Donald had not suggested going to Salisbury for dinner, I wouldnt have found it, under all the dirt it looks darn near new.

Nice Find, Hans!

The 4047 was built from 1974 to 1976 as a promotional model. Got this information from a listing Jeff Parker put together that was printed in the VCCC Newsletter several years ago.

I recently bought and reconditioned a near perfect Hoover Convertible U4047 and absolutely love the "peach" color of this classic Hoover. I even found an NIB matching tool set that I still have not used. Hoover Y Carbon HEPA bags work great in it thanks to a tip from Fred Stachnik. :)

Y Bags

I'm curious. How do you use a Hoover Y bag in a convertible meant for a type C Baq? The Y ones are much easier to find.

You have to

replace the fill tube with one that takes the A style bags.  My Convertible had this modification, and it works well.

I changed out the fill tube and bellows.

I forgot to mention that I installed a new top fill tube and bellows that the Y bags fit into. :)

I figured that was it, but was hoping there was some magical way to do it without having to go through all that. It doesn't seem that difficult, though.
