Selling Some Vintage Vacuums

Thanks for your interest guys.

All the machines are listed under "vintage vacuums" on ebay except the newer Air-Way Anniversary Signature Series made in 2000.
Each has photos posted with the listing. I hope this helps.

I've got the first bid in on the FQ

I just had to be the first to put a bid in on your Filter Queen. Looks to be in nice shape. I have one just like it. We'll see how the bidding goes. Wish me luck.

Shelly,
Thanks for your bid. The Filter Queen is a beauty and I got it from another collector several years ago. I really hated to sell it but I am down sizing.
It is in very nice condition. The power nozzle looks like it has never been used.
I always liked the chrome and dark brown color combination.

I've searched Ebay and can't find any of the vacs. What is your ebay id or can you post links to the vacs?

Rob, those vacuums are stunning! Looks like bidding is going well! I should downsize as well, but have to get my head and heart in the right places to do it.

Selling Some Vintage vacs

Rick,
Thanks. I found out REAL quick when selling on Craig's List what sells are the Dyson's, Orecks,Miele's and cheaper end Bissell's. I was shocked that I have NO interest in my beautiful newer Hoover's and even the Electrolux's. It is a changing world and the younger buyers have a different concept of what is a premium brand and what they want to use. It was a reality check for me as a collector.

Fabulous machines, The Filter Queen is my favorite,Love the chrome and chocolate with a hint of mint in the lettering,I would have to have it if I didn't already have one, mine is not that complete though. To give that one the attention it deserves I would change the search picture to the one you have here, It would stand out from the others if the buyers could see everything it comes with in the search pic. A floor tool, power nozzle and the rug tool with wands is rare to find with this model, and all in barely if never used condition. What a find. Just my 3 cents.

OK, I finally found the listings but only by searching for the ebay member name. I wonder if it is because I am in Canada (even though I am using ebay.com) and you don't ship to Canada that I cannot find the listings when searching? I've never had this problem before when a seller has not specified shipping to Canada. Has Ebay changed their search rules again?

Gary

Selling Some Vintage Vacuums

Steve,
I have had the Fairfax for years. It was bought new in Indianapolis. At one time I had a note written by the buyer to Fairfax. She was having trouble finding bags. I don't think it was ever used very much for that reason. The rug tool is prestine.
I know nothing about Fairfax's either but I do remember they were in Indianapolis back when I was working for Electrolux with a summer college job in 1969. One of the houses I called on with Electrolux was the wife of a Fairfax dealer. It was an interesting demo!
The Fairfax is in really nice condition. The boxes have some wear but are still very sturdy. Very strong suction with the 2 speed motor. The motor is very smooth and quiet. It kind of reminds me of a Kirby with all the additional attachments!

Selling Some VIntage Vacuums

Mark,
Thanks for the suggestion. I asked the person doing my listing to make the change. He was not sure if he could make the change AFTER you get a bid on the article.
I would not have thought of that angle.
My idea was to find homes for the vacuums with collectors that would enjoy the older machines.

I would love to own your compact vacuum but I live in Canada. It really is no trouble to ship international and of course I would pay the shipping. So please I am on my knees begging you please, please re-consider shipping to Canada thanks. It would mean the world to me if i was able to have it thanks. Zach
