Illustrated here is the reason Fantom added side filters onto their machines fairly quickly after production started. This is a machine that I recently dismantled for parts. All that dog hair had to go through the motor to get where it is in the filter.

My hoover hurricane was the same, but other pre filter didn't seal properly so the motor got full of hair, here's the machine:

That's not right. I've never seen a Fantom ever do that or even come close. Someone must have ran it without the dust cup properly attached, so the second cyclone picked up all the hair. Shame when it happens to a vac like that.

btw, did you happen to need/keep the bumper and floor nozzle holder if it came with it??

The edge bumper and the nozzle frame are listed together on eBay at present.
