Hello,

I'm not a collector and know very little about vaccums, but I bought a Hoover Concept One on craigslist about 8-10 years ago and it has been the best vacuum I've ever owned. I love it! About a year ago it stopped "driving" itself as I vacuum. It is still usable, but difficult to push. Does anyone know why this would happen, and if its something I could fix myself with replacement parts, or do I need to bring it in for service somewhere?

I really love this vacuum, and would love for it to work again!

Thanks!

I'm attaching a link to a manual for a Hoover PowerMax self-propelled, which is like your Concept One. Read the section on the belts. Hope this helps.

The belt you are going to need is part #160147AG, package #402010-49 (they may also be identified as Type 49 belts.) Being a fellow Concept One owner, I wish you the best with yours!

I have over 20 different models of concept. I think they are one of Hoovers finest machines!! You should replace that belt at least once or twice a year. I replace mine everytime I replace the brushroll belt. If you never have had that belt replaced, you better hold on tight when you get a new one on, she will take off on you.
