Hi Guys.
I just listed this model 88 on ebay - http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dllQUEST... . Thought I'd give you all the heads up. So many people have asked me about them I've lost track of who still wants them. Heres the rundown on the machine. Its not perfect but it is in decent condition. The machine iteself is in excellent working order and the bearing has just been replaced in the motor. The body has a few small scratches and dints from use but nothing major. Even the original plug is still intact. The hose is in good shape with very little leakage. The handgrip has been replaced with a lime green one from the model 89 though. Also the hose cord, which is original, has faded a bit on the female end and the plastic pull on the male end has partly broken off. The metal wand has a few paint chips but is otherwise completely intact and functional while the plastic wand for the powerhead looks like new. The powernozzle runs well and has a decent brush length yet but there are some scratches in the bumper from use, the cord has been repaired with a heat shrink but has the original end and the elbow has been replaced with a green one from the 89. All of the attachments are in good shape with the following notes: Crevice tool is scraped from use, Dusting brush has a few small paint chips, Floor nozzle has quite a few paint chips - was obviously the most used part. Congratulations, Doug! That went off better than expected.
And to the winner, of course...grrrrr. :-) It wasn't me this time although I gave it a darn good shot.
It was all about the PN, both red telescopic wands and the red hose cord & matching clips. Need I mention, the next red PN1 or red plastic telescopic or red cord clips you find, shoot me an email, Please. Dave |

Hi Doug. Well, as you know the 2011 vacation budget got blown - or at least somewhat crippled - with that once in a lifetime Minneapolis Convention Road-trip Adventure. Which was worth every penny but I knew, with the new roof, painting the house and setting aside enough to build the new porch this Spring, that there would be winter road trip challenges. And so it came to be that I could not continue north to Winnipeg and beyond; but I sure got to lots of other fascinating places. Who knew it would be such a 'light' winter?
Back at work two weeks now preparing for our 6oth Anniversary season; there'll be no spontaneous trips for Davy over the next 9 months. :-(
The good news is, just last week I committed to reaching Winnipeg & my mechanical music buddy Al next November. Moose Jaw is a hop, skip & jump from there so if you can hold out that long I'll see you in mid November when once again I predict another mild winter onset.
Here in Stratford it has been a virtually snow-less winter with the last piles of a light dusting melted away this past weekend. With sunny temps hovering either side of freezing it's more like early May than February.
Dave. |
