I noticed on Seinfeld, in two episodes what looked like a Kirby 509, reconditioned with red trim, cord, and bo-jac red bag. It apeared in an episode in George's and Susan's appartment, and in another episode involving George. Mr. Costanza had made George his "butler" for causing his car to be laid waste by an angry mob for George's parking it in a handicapped only parking spot. This also got Mr. Costanza arrested and so he forced George to be his butler (an earlier theme from the series) in restitution of his debt. George was (acting)vacuuming, with the 509. He pushed the lever down as if to turn off machine! Machine was not on (uninflated bag and canned sound). I remember some TV shows where the vacuum really was on! (An episode of Rhoda--her mom's Hoover commercial which took forever to wind down.) I also saw a nice Kirby 560 with restored trim in a FREDRICK'S OF HOLLYWOOD valentine sale catalogue. It was shown in a double mirror shot so the switch was oposite side it seemed! Weird!
