Went back to the estate sale I got my Electrolux at and picked this up - haven't even plugged it in and it needs a lot of cleaning...

Wow, I wish I could find something that wonderful at an estate sale here!  I have wanted a roll-easy forever but the only ones I've seen are on ebay, and the bidding always goes way beyond what I can justify spending.

Does anyone know if bags are still available for these or if there's a bag that will work with it?

Thanks!

Type in Roll-Easy for past posts and pics. I think Dave had a nice way to adapt new Hoover bags for them, I didn't look all the way through the posts. Happy hunting!

FABULOUS!!!!

I have one I found on the side of the road!, Not complete, but now that Tania graciously sent me a cord, I can use it.

Smart move picking that up.

And not just any 'common' Roll-Easy there, Graham.
Shortly after the redesign of the concave wider version One, all the Copper anodizing was discontinued for plain anodized aluminum.
That's a version Two, the first convex barreled one with the hose inlet centered in the handle bezel. What makes it special are the copper-anodized wands that appear to be in excellent condition and hose end...and the turquoise tool caddy that DOESN'T have its doorknob hanger hole torn out. Got all the matching tools? Let's see a pic of those.
That hose is the official factory woven replacement for the turquoise vinyl hose that sadly was very prone to splitting from towing the vacuum around and up stairs, as recommended in the manual and advertising.
As for the white waxey crusty stuff on the tools and hubs, that is very usual on GE Cycolac plastic and is easily removed and neutralized.
The Search-a-lator Vintage Archive files are a goldmine of Roll-Easy history, Tips & Tricks from those of us who have one.

I did discover a current commonly available bag that works in a Roll-Easy, with the addition of a glued-on cardboard gasket...just can't remember the Hoover type but it's in the archives. If there is a bag in yours, save the cardboard inlet piece for a pattern !

If it simply is not 'your thing', clean it up well and you have a fairly complete treasure that will easily fetch $300 - $500 on eBay, I wager.
If I lived in the Bay area I'd be trying to wheadle it out of you. :-)
Dave
