Wow those look great all lined up like that I love it when vacuum collections have complete or close to complete catagories such as similar machines like that thanks. Zach

I ended up replacing the motor in the Eureka Princess II I had another that I had saved out of a Eureka. Runs great! I am going to save the original motor and try to replace the bearings eventually.

Eureka Cannisters !

Eureka Cannisters in the 60's,70's going into the 80's Were a big hit with those die hard cannister fans from the 30s 40's and 50's. If you were not a Sears customer,
you would probably have a Eureka cannister that you bought at a local hardware, furniture, appliance, department or discount store. Some folks, especially older
cannister fans, loved those Eureka cans at 39.00,49.00 and 59.00 dollars. When the Electrolux sales persons were not so plentiful. Plus married women were going to work and not at home. Than the disposable mind set had set in. Why fix the old Air Way, lux, Apex, Compact, whatever. When you could buy a new Eureka any time any where.
This being based on what I saw with friends, family, customers and retail sales in Ohio in those days. They probably would have a new Hoover upright with 4 height adjustment. Then a Green, Blue or Eureka can of many or any color for hard floors, the car, the stair carpet, the kitchen. Rather than one expensive, door to door vac. People were going down the road of at least 2 vacuums. Hoover actually promo'd their uprights. Than would suggest a cannister. Because they knew the suction was not there on the Hoover uprights.
I have always liked Eureka's basic Cannister styles, with the metal can, the chrome slotted metal wands. Along with the attachments that were very well made for the job they were made to do. Especially when they had a real hard floor brush. As opposted to a combo Rug/Floor tool. Which none of G E's, Hoovers or any other brand ever really worked the same as the real full horse hair brushes.

Eurekaprince is ecstatic to once again see the vac which matches his Vacuumland name! I took the name before knowing that this model even existed!!!! (Though some of my friends would say I am more of a "princess" - but that's for the "Off Topic" section!!!!!)
