Curbside finds

Yes, Doug having lived most of my life on Long Island, I couldn't agree more. There are alot more "scavengers" nowadays and most of the vacuums you find thrown out are the new plastic pieces of junk. I've been scouring the garbage for about the last 20 years, and back in the day I used to find Constellations, Dial-A-Matics, Convertibles, Kirbys, Royals, pretty much you name it. Nowadays these same vacs go for telephone numbers on eBay. I did find a nice Oreck XL-9100C recently that only needed a belt. Also, a convertible model 66 that is sadly in deplorable condition, but it still works!

Well it's finally here.

My first and currently only Hoover Dial a Matic came yesterday. It runs great and cleans pretty well. It is in almost mint condition aside from a few nicks in the cord and scuffs on the base. The power drive is really quite powerful.
Before I forget to describe this thing here we go. It has a white base, cord, sides, and handle tube. The bag cover, handle grip, and front cover are light brown. The letters that spell out HOOVER on the front cover are white also.
Like I said earlier it is one of the only vintage Hoovers in my collection.

By the way...

My Dial a Matic does not have Loose Handle Syndrome the handle is nice and tight.
