I have two 589 Hoover Convertibles and I've noticed some slight differences in the height adjustment pedals. One convertible says indoor/outdoor while the other convertible says low. I'm assuming the convertible that has the indoor/outdoor setting is an older model. While the one that just says low is newer. These have to be production changes. Or was indoor/outdoor carpeting just a 60's thing?

it was a change. A major reason for this change was because people were using them outdoors on the "felt" carpeting. Some of them were damp, and people were getting shocked!. Some tried to sue HOOVER, I BELIEVE some did, and won. This story was relayed to me in detail by the experts in North Canton, people FROM HOOVER. |
