I picked up a used Lindhaus Healthcare Pro recently. After I got it home I realized only the brush motor in the PN was working. I slowly took it apart and tested the switch and wiring harness down to the connector to the motor compartment with a ohm meter for continuity. Nope, not the wiring. That checked out.
So, agh(!), maybe the motor is shot. I took the top off the motor compartment. Took a glance inside but had no time to check further. No burned smell, but no life either. Before I really dig in, does anyone know if there are any common issues with the motors burning out in these vacs? Or if there are any known issues with the wiring or connectors in the motor compartment? I have my fingers crossed for a quick fix. Just hoping!
Once I have it laid out, how would I check that the motor is alive or dead? Any way of checking with a meter? Or would I have to clip it to a power supply or variac and hit it with voltage?
If the motor is shot, where's the best place to get a replacement and how much do they cost?
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. The vac looks to be in very good shape but it did have a crack across the plastic carry handle, indicating it had been dropped at some point (the carry handle was wrapped in duct tape to hold it together). I don't know if that has any bearing to the motor going out or not.
