Beautiful vacs made by Eureka!

Just a minor, teeny, tiny request from this crazy Eurekaprince: the dusting brush is stored the wrong way.....I know this sounds crazy, but in all corporate Eureka advertisements in trade magazines, the dusting brush is always facing with the bristles forward......it's usually stored on the first knob closest to the front, but facing the opposite direction to all the other attachments.

Of course this does not detract from the beauty of these machines (Eurekaprince is mucho jealous!!!!)

Enjoy your new toy!

The power nozzle is also recognizable because the design was also licensed to Rainbow-Rexair from 1974-80.

the power!

I am surprised at the amount of power that both vacuums have, the straight suction Wards is only a 7.5 Amp, and the Wards with the pwrhead is a 10.5 Amp.

Great looking vacuum, I like the wood accents on the vibra groomer model.

Imagine what it must have been like to take a new one home. Every one in the house trying out the vacuum for the first time in thier room.

My mom had a host of vacuums when I was growing up, I think it was just to make me happy they bought a new one every 2 years or so

When I was growing up we only had 2 vacuums in our house, the GE and the Signature. It wasn't until I started working that the house was introduced to a wide variety of vacuums! But I had my Aunts and Uncles vacuums to play around with. And Grandma's Electrolux XXX!

Luckily for me my mom likes to buy things so every time a new vacuum was launched we got one, I wasn't complaining , dad was though.

I was a night mare at the shops though

We lived in a very small town,  just a grocery store and a gas station. We would once a week come to Greencastle to shop for groceries  and whatever Mom and Grandma would want.  If we came  down town I would run to Wards to look at the vacuums, or to Horace Link Furnature to look at the Hoovers! We had a Penney's but no vacuums there. Ace Hardware had GE and Hoover, I always ask to buy a GE canister but that never happened!

My dad would take me from shop to shop to show me all the vacuums, he even organised with Electrolux ( uk version) to send me pamphlets every time a new model was launched , funny thing is even with a strong family heritage in Electrolux ( my grand father was md for service for all of africa) only 4 of  the many vacuums were electroluxes.

Moulinex major

aeg vampyre 509 electronic

Electrolux shop vac

Hoover turbo master

Bissell big green clean machine

Electrolux contour 2

Electrolux wide track ( eureka wide track )

Elecrolux whirl wind

Hoover wind tunnel

then I left home and she had many mor e, they now have a dyson dc25 & dc05 motor head .

Non of these vacuums ever packed up they were just replaced
