Eureka added a RotoMatic power nozzle to the Empress II FastVac right at the very debut of their Power Team canisters in 1973. It was the top of the line of the Power Teams (Model 1280 I think).
In 1974, Consumer Reports rated the first version of this 1280 as "unacceptable" because the electrified hose plug kept pulling out of the socket on the main unit because they kept the 360 degree swivel feature of the hose. I hear that all subsequent units solved the problem by limiting the swivel of the hose at the main unit. |
