I think its amazing what might be the worst biggest load of rubbish vacuum can be your dream find Just because a family member had one when you were little.
I am still searching for my Grans vac , even a pic , a yellow and brown Electrolux ( uk ) 404, columbus made thier own version aswell in orange. Its amazing how much these vacuums can mean |

the 404 is a upright electrolux ( not the USA electrolux but Uk and rest of the world ) it has a cloth bag brown in color with the electrolux emblem printed al over it, it had a plasic hood in yellow. Its not the pretiest thing As far as I know it was the only electrolux with a proper cloth bag attached at the rear.

Yes I agree its a link to my past, My Gran lived in a small karoo town called oudshoorn about 4 hours outside of cape town in a big victorian house that had a passage that ran from the front portch to the back door, every morning the carpet would get rolled up and the wooden floor polished, my sister and i would then skate on the shiny floor in our socks.
I only recently found the same make of polisher , a twin brush columbus, as soon as it arrives I'll post pics. I loved the way the vacuums bag inflated , it was a big cloth bag I will ty and sketch a drawing of how it looked if I get a chance tonight |

Well next time your in Cape town pop inn.
Unfortunetly we don't see many old ones any more, We are big dyson agents , infact if a dyson is under warranty and it breaks any were in south africa they come to me. I like both new and vintage vacuum cleanres My Dad always said make your passion your job That way you will always enjoy so after designing vacuums at Electrolux I opened a vacuum shop, as far as I know the only vacuum shop in SA that sells new vacuums different brands ( not tied to one brand like Kirby or sebo ) and repairs them too |

Just dyson, Aeg & bissell( the new bissel not verimark) the sebo's are two expensive although Im working on a deal.
i would also love a Kirby from the 50's I had one but this is SA and it was swipped before I could rebuild it. The start up cost to doing vac repairs was not allot its the spares that cost and when you small you buy as you need. withinn the next few years I want to open up a few branches I will call you. Its not all fun and games but thier is big potential in this country for those of us who want to work what do yu do at the moment ? |

Heres the pic of my Electrolux Z302 it used to have a grey power cord but it burned out a few times in its life so the power cord was used for something else. I had the motor rewinded and now i cant get a grey cord anywhere.the accesories are packed away. |
