Thanks!

Oh, so YOU got it!

I don't really need another XXX but I thought seriously for a minute about bidding anyway just for that hose!

Yes, it is the original cotton weave hose although yellowed with age and nicotine; it would have been a light gray and in fact electrolux did put out a gray vinyl woven hose in that pattern as a replacement... Many decades ago of course.

Is this what it would look like without the yellowing?

Yep, that's the original looking color.  Beautiful!

If....

you want functionality, go for the vinyl that has the same pattern.;-) How does it run, sound and suck?

Where can I find a vinyl hose with the same pattern?

Dave....

said it's been decades since LUX put out the replacement vinyl hose with the same pattern. Maybe old vacuum shops still around or someone who bought out all the parts in an old shop etc. ebay...of course and craigslist, but you might have to buy the whole vacuum to get it. Not necessarily the worst of things that could happen.;-)

Alright, Thanks :) As you asked before about how it runs sounds and sucks, i'd have to say all of these 3 categories fall under the word amazing compared to all of my other vacs. It has unbelievable suction for such an old vac and it sounds and runs just like new! I love my "new" lux :)

Ha, the hair on the back of my neck stands up everytime i see one of these Model XXX's.
An elderly widower older guy neighbor of ours when i was a kid, had one of these he kept in his garage to clean out his car with. (the car was a late 60s Chevy beast of some kind)

He had a Hoover Convertible, and a blue lux model G for inside the house.,,i checked one time! Was a big deal to me to know who had what kind of vacuum.

Anyway, there was some sort of a short in the electrical connection or system of that model XXX in that garage and every metal surface on it (which is pretty much the whole vac) was elecrified!,,except the carrying strap (which was broken off missing on his) hose handle and the attachments.

I found this out the hard way!

He saw me outside one day and asked if id like to earn some money cleaning out his car, and washing and waxing the exterior.
Not being one to turn down money for running a vacuum, i gladly said yes.

After plugging in and turning on that model XXX, i went to lift it grabbing it up from underneath, and got the SHOCK of my life! I was just a kid, so it knocked me down as i threw the machine forward to get rid of it.

Sorry but, ive NEVER trusted an old all metal Electrolux (of that vintage) again!
