I found a Eureka Bravo! upright at my cabin. I figured out everything but how to change the belt, and it really needs to be changed. The belt is a U. Does anyone know how to change the belt on this upright?

There are some phillips head screws that have to be removed.... the bottom plate doesn't come off... you have to flip the vacuum over so the "top" is facing "up" and the motor hood lifts off.... lift from the back (where the switch and handle release pedal are, but do it on both sides) and kind of pivot the hood up toward the front of the cleaner... then you can access the belt. I can't remember where the screws are, I haven't touched one since I was a kid, but lots of newer Eurekas are like that.... I thought there were some screws on the back side of the cleaner hood facing the top, but I don't remember for sure. Good luck.

How do I get the belt off now that I've accessed it?

Vacuumfreaks,

Thanks so much for the help. We did as you said, and we were able to access the belt...but. The roller bar to which it is attached doesn't seem to want to come out to allow the belt to be replaced. I've taken the belt off of the peg it is also looped around, but then we come to the bar.... Help!
