I may be looking to buy a Sanitronic VII sometime this week or next, they are asking $60 and claim it to be original. I've asked for pics but the person is either lazy or doe not know how. So when I go to look at it, I would like to have a checklist of what to look for regarding originality. I don't know much about these particular machines so I'd like to know what color everything is suppose to be, the bag, etc. Pics would be great too!

Thanks guys! Nice looking vac Hoover1. I may print those off for easy reference. Not sure when I'll be able to go look at it, the guy lives over an hour away I'm trying to find a time after work when I can go get it and sneak it in the house without my wife saying "where were you?" and I've got a vacuum hidden in the trunk of my car. LOL

x2!

So I went to the guy's house and he opened his shed with a surprise, another Sanitronic VII! He wanted $60 for the original one and $10 for the second one he just picked up. I gave him $65 for both. They are in rough shape and maybe I paid a bit too much but I didn't drive an hour to go home empty handed. I might sell the second one for parts.

I am not sure if the first one has an original bag or not. I read that the originals had oval circles and that round circles have been replaced, maybe someone can verify that.

pics!

aftermarket bag of "second" unit. This might be nice for someone with an older 500 series that needs a bag.

twins. The both have "Kirby" cords, I think the first one may be original but it needs a good cleaning cause I can't tell what color it is! lol

shot of the attachments (or lack thereof), but complete handi-butler set (minus the actual handy-butler)

Kirby bag tag

The bag on the Sanitronic VII with the circles IS DEFINITELY the original bag,the ovals as far as the bag is concerned debuted on the Dual Sanitronic 50, the next model. Even the owners manual will bear this out. The 562 and the VII both have mostly the same pics in the book, and though some pics are retouched 516-561 pics, the 562 debuted with many new pics and a new lady vacuuming her living room. Not one pic in the 562 thru VII EVER show ovals on the bag ever. But go to the D50 book and then you'll see them.I worked for Kirby years back and knew people who had the Sanitronic VII,including a pastor who sold them, they never had replaced the bag and it had circles. However, the oval first shows up on the cover of the Sanitronic VII manual,on its nameplate, and on the attachment box.

If you decide to part-out the second one I might have a use for that replacement bag.
