I got this today at a flea market for $40 - Don't know anything about it other than it runs! The bag was full and the bulb is missing - can anyone tell me what type of replacement bulb I need and anything else about this model.

Thanks!

Also at the flea market

an Invincible - they wanted $150 for it - it looked cool, but was more than I could afford.

First off...that TR4 is GORGEOUS. One of my all time faves...miss my old one alot. The Sanitronic 80 was a great find. I've got a couple myself. Love these, and they're great cleaners. Run forever, too. Bulb can be found at the automotive shops. It's basically a taillight replacement bulb, bayonet type which you push in and turn. I *think* they are 12w J6...but I need to verify that.

Sorry, was off on the wattage--this is on ebay, you can get these at automotive parts places and probably some supermarkets.

This is the type of bag your new machine should have on it:

The bulb is a 120v 25W Bayonet Appliance bulb, they're easy to find, DO NOT put a 12v bulb in there though as it'll do bad things.... :S

Looks like it needs a polish and a new bag and it'll be all nice and cool... :)

Speaking of the bag:

Don't waste a minute...

Bag that bag on ebay!  The only replacement bags available from Kirby anymore are plain black.  Once the green ones are gone, they're GONE!

Back in 1968 the mother of a friend of mine got a Dual 80.  That vacuum was half the reason Wayne and I were best friends!

Nice find! I'd really like a D80 myself. Hope you find a bag for it, but at least the cord looks original and you got a hose with it!

You know, I only just noticed the Triumph TR4 in the background there... :P

It's always funny seeing old British cars like that in Land Yacht country... :P

Thanks

I bought the correct bag on ebay and started polishing - it's not easy to get that mirrored finish I see on some of the other vacuum's posted on this site.
The TR4 is a great car - it's amazing how many people stop me to tell me that they use to have one. Out here in California it's not uncommon to be driving around and see one or two old British sports cars a day!
Thanks for all the help!

Weeee!!!!!!

Love the d80 as it's my favorite Kirby.

But love the beetle too! If you don't know I drive a 67 beetle daily. Love em to death. Triumph are cool but never knew anyone who had one. I see tones of mgs and even Morgans more than triumph. A shame. They are nice.

The "Invicible" vacuum looks a lot like the Spencer vacuum a workplace I was at had.I would have somehow come up with the $150 to buy the Invincible vac.
